Whether you have a boat or not (if you do, please invite me), the summer of the great boat shoe revival is upon us. The oft-polarizing shoe first appeared back on the scene at Miu Miu’s Spring 2024 runway, but it officially cemented its return this March when Aritizia and Sperry dropped a boat shoe collaboration — and it sold out instantly. But just in time for Memorial Day Weekend, much to the relief of the internet, the shoes were finally restocked today if you weren’t able to snag a pair the first time around.
Fusing Aritzia’s elevated, minimal aesthetic with Sperry’s nautical roots, the Aritzia x Sperry collaboration puts a modern twist on the iconic boat shoe. The collection includes two styles, the Slim Boat Shoe and the Authentic Original 2-Eye Boat Shoe, each available in brown and tan colorways. Offering a fun customization option, the Aritzia x Sperry shoes come with a re-lacing needle and three interchangeable laces in classic and playful colors, so you can mix and match your style. You could also take note from fashion editors who added charms to their boat shoe laces this past Fashion Month for a little added flair.

First up in the collab, the Sperry x Aritzia Slim Boat is a sleek, contemporary take on the boat shoe, featuring a more narrow toe box and full-grain leather upper. Then, for those who want to stick with the OG, the Sperry x Aritzia Authentic Original 2-Eye stays true to the classic Sperry design. Both styles retail for $120 and were just restocked at Aritzia. Though, if the original launch is any indication, I’d suggest adding a pair to your cart quickly before they sell out again, thanks to the TikTok virality.
Love them or hate them, Aritzia and Sperry’s buzz-worthy collab is the latest proof that boat shoes are back in a big way. On the runways, the nautical footwear made waves everywhere, from JW Anderson to The Row, Miu Miu, and Loewe, popping up in leather, suede, and canvas styles. Boat shoes have also landed the celebrity seal of approval, with both Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Corrin stepping out in different iterations this season. And even if you don’t have a boat to wear them on for Summer 2025, the shoe revival coincides with the current fisherman aesthetic trend (forecasted by the 2025 Pinterest Predicts report), so you can pretend from head to toe.
