Looking for an easy cornbread recipe? This is the world’s easiest cornbread recipe of all time and uses frugal ingredients you likely already have on hand. Plus, it’s so delicious, you’ll want to keep making it again and again!
Recipe by Brigette on our team.
This is our favorite cornbread recipe!
We eat this cornbread all the time during the cooler months! This recipe is the perfect frugal side to go alongside hearty soups and stews, plus it keeps all of the teenage appetites in my house happy and satisfied.
This is not the only cornbread recipe I’ll ever make (because this honey cornbread recipe is SO yummy, too!), but this is by far the simplest and quickest one to pull off when I panic at 4:45 p.m. and think, “Oh no! What am I going to serve for a side with dinner?”
It doesn’t take sour cream (which I don’t usually keep on hand) or butter (which is pricey) like many other cornbread recipes do, and there isn’t even a second bowl involved!
Have I mentioned how easy this recipe is? 🙂
Of course, we make up for the lack of butter in the recipe by slathering it with butter and honey as soon as it’s finished baking! (This honey butter pairs wonderfully with it.)
