The British star hasn’t fought since defeating KSI back in 2023, but is expected to make his highly-anticipated return to the ring later this evening
Tommy Fury returns to the ring for the first time in nearly two years later this evening against Bosnian fighter Kenan Hanjalic.
The pair are set to meet at the MTK Arena in Budapest, Hungary. Fury will also compete on the same card as his half brother, Roman Fury – who is scheduled to face heavyweight contender Josip Pehar. ‘TNT’s’ last outing came back in October 2023 when he defeated social media sensation KSI.
It’s been a long road to get back to this very moment for the former Love Island star. A win for the Brit tonight will no doubt kickstart a busy year inside the ring. Looking to spoil the party though, Hanjalic is adamant he possesses the experience and skill to topple his upcoming foe and shock the world in Hungary. And so, here’s all the details regarding the UK fight start times for the card tonight…
Tommy Fury vs Kenan Hanjalic – 10pm
In the main event, Fury makes his highly-anticipated return to the ring. The British star didn’t fight at all in 2024 after recovering from surgery. That said, he will be hoping to make up for lost time, and his 2025 boxing season begins against Kenan Hanjalic. ‘TNT’ will be hoping a statement win in Hungary will earn him several mouthwatering bouts towards the back end of the year. Hanjalic – on the other hand – is desperate to shock the world. The Bosnian brawler’s last bout came last month when he knocked out Edhem Hrustic in the second round. Despite the momentum, Fury will not be at all fazed as he looks to keep his perfect record going.
Shokhjakhon Abdullaev vs Irakli Alanidze
Uzbekistan star Shokhjakhon Abdullaev will be looking to keep his undefeated record intact this evening against Irakli Alanidze. Abdullaev made his professional debut last year against Matias Ramon Ramirez and has gone from strength to strength. With two of his four wins coming by way of knockout, Abdullaev will be eager to pick up another win inside the ring. Alanidze has more experience on the professional scene, but holds a record of 6-5. The Georgian comes into the contest off the back of a crucial win against Mikheil Khutsishvili.
Valentin Koloszar vs Alexandru Ionita – 8pm
Hungarian fighter Valentin Koloszar will once again be looking to showcase his talents to the world in front of his home fans. The 21-year-old made his professional debut against Luka Veljovic back in December. After scoring a knockout victory in Szentendre, the youngster faces a tougher test in Alexandru Ionita – who holds a professional record of 7-34. The Romanian hasn’t won a fight since 2019 – but will be itching to shock the world in enemy territory later this evening.
Roman Fury vs Josip Pehar – 7pm
Roman Fury – the half brother of former Love Island star Tommy – is finally set to make his return to the ring later this evening. He was due to take on American reality TV star and Misfits heavyweight champion Chase DeMoor, but the latter pulled out. The Brit – who holds a professional record of 4-0 – hasn’t fought since defeating Martin Svarc on the Anthony Joshua vs Francis Ngannou undercard last year. As for his upcoming opponent, Pehar, the Croatian has a little more experience in the ring, holding a record of 7-5. He got back to winning ways in his last fight, defeating Marko Petricevic last month.
